The Navy Comes to Town

The Royal Navy Fitness for life team visited MCMA on Thursday to work with the year 10 BTEC Class. The 28 students participated in a circuit training session with an emphasis on ‘fit for purpose and fitness for health’. They then completed a team work challenge and discussed the nutrition required to fuel the body.

Ghyll Head Kath Fry Challenge

10 year 10 girls were selected to compete in the annual Kath Fry Challenge at Ghyll Head on Lake Windermere in the Lake District. The girls had to complete a midnight navigation task, mountain hike up Old Man Coniston (which was completed in record time for MCMA) and select a series of team building challenges which were all worth points. MCMA girls not only completed nearly every team building challenge available to then but WON the whole challenge! Over 16 schools took part from the Greater Manchester area.
