Manchester Creative and Media Academy (MC&MA Girls) students got to walk down one of the UK’s most famous – and protected – locations, Downing Street.
The pupils, who were on a day trip to London arranged by the Citizenship department, also toured Parliament as very special guests of local MP (Members of Parliament) Graham Stringer.
A group of 21 pupils were asked to be shown around the House of Lords and the House of Commons by the Manchester Blackley representative.
Students also enjoyed Trafalgar Square, saw the new Supreme Court and Westminster Abbey.
They also went on a coach tour of the capital where they took in sights including Buckingham Palace and the London Eye.
Miss Martin from Humanities devised the trip with the help of Crumpsall councillor Jon Pritchard and Head of Citizenship, Daren Morley.
She said: “It was a very long day for the girls but it gave them an opportunity to see some of the sights and some of the institutions they had been learning about in Citizenship.
“The pupils asked some brilliant questions and were very well behaved throughout the trip. They did an excellent job of representing the new Academy!”
