Manchester Creative and Media Academy (MC&MA) students gave Harpurhey residents a helping hand with their weekly shopping – and raised money for charity in the process.
A group of 20 year 7 pupils from MC&MA Girls’ collected spare change for ASDA’s Tickled Pink campaign after helping to pack ASDA Harpurhey customer’s bags.
They helped at the checkouts for over three hours, and the girls enjoyed the experience.
One of the packers, Katie Hurst, said: “We felt nervous at first, but then it was OK. People were nice to us.”
The girls said they are hoping that they have raised a significant amount. Asma Safi said: “We’re going to try about count the money. It could be around £200!”
Well done ladies! Also, thank you to everyone at ASDA that helped the students on the day.
