Manchester Creative and Media Academy (MC&MA Girls) students stepped into the ‘Dragon’s Den’ when they presented their winning business ideas at a local enterprise event.
A group of 20 year 9 pupils travelled to Manchester Enterprise Academy in Wythenshawe for the Lionheart Enterprise Project.
The girls won the award for the best marketing strategy after presenting their business ideas to ‘Dragon’s Den’-style judging panel.
Working to a crime prevention theme, the girls planned and designed a product that would not allow a car to start if the driver had been drinking. They also submitted a design for a tracking chip device for the safety of children.
Throughout the day the students completed various tasks related to product development, which included market research, a marketing plan and product design. They also created a business and finance plan.
Mr Morley, who attended the event with the girls, said: “The task was very complex but the girls passed with flying colours.
“They were amazing and did us proud.”
Well done ladies!
