Music students from Manchester Creative and Media Academy Girls (MC&MA Girls) wowed London executives when they performed at a prestigious education meeting.
Year 10 BTEC Music pupils travelled to the Lancaster Hotel in the capital for the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust (SSAT) Conference after they were specially selected by its events team.
The girls, watched by conference attendees and staff, performed a 45 minute set of classic and new songs including Ben E. King’s ‘Stand By Me’ and ‘Telephone’ by Lady Gaga.
They were chosen from a list of performers for dance, drama and music to show off their talents during one of the breaks.
The group set off from Manchester Piccadilly at 7am, and used the underground to get around the city.
Music teacher Miss Fairclough accompanied the girls on the trip. She said: “Everyone had a great time; the girls’ behaviour was superb. It was just really hot, especially on the underground!”
