Entertaining the community: MC&MA Boys' Four-Piece Band performs at Boggart Hole Clough Lakeside

Manchester Creative and Media Academy’s (MC&MA Boys) four-piece band performed to a rapt audience at an annual community concert this summer.

The show, which consisted of guitars, percussion and vocals, was the first in a two-part series of free summer afternoon concerts at Blackley’s Boggart Hole Clough Lakeside.

The Absolution Saxophone Quartet from the Royal Northern College of Music performed on Sunday July 18.

The concerts follow last year’s MC&MA Girls’ Steel Band performance at the ancient woodland park.

The MC&MA four-piece band performance took place outside the Boathouse Café. It was presented by Boggart Hole Clough Community Action Trust in association with Manchester City Council.

Mr Peters, Head of Music at MC&MA Boys – and keyboard accompaniment on the day – said: “The afternoon went very well. The performance was well received by the audience and the boys were a credit to the Academy.”
