Students from Manchester Creative and Media Academies (MC&MA) lead the way in a North Manchester-wide primary school football festival.
Five students from both the girls’ and boys’ sites travelled to The Co-operative Academy in Blackley for the event, which saw eight primary schools from around the area compete.
The student leaders played an important role on the evening both by coaching on the pitch and also high-quality refereeing.
It was the first heat of the football tournament. Teams will now progress into two mini leagues, The Premiership and The Championship.
Showcasing skills at flagship event
The students were Mikel Gunning, Joe Pierre, Alec Midumu, Liam Stewart and Aimee Cook, our Sports Gold Ambassador from MC&MA (Girls).
PE teacher Miss Hall said: “The competition was a great success.
“The young people involved had an excellent time and the feedback on the leader’s performance, from both parents and students, was outstanding.
She added: “They are a credit to themselves and also to the Academy.”
The next heat is in November and the final is in January – visit The Academy Extra Online in November to see our student leaders in action!
