East Manchester Academy Visit

Members of Manchester Creative and Media Academies’ (MC&MA) Student Council and staff from both sites travelled to East Manchester Academy in Beswick for a taster of how a brand new academy works.

It’s part of the preparation for MC&MA’s move to the new Victoria Avenue site in 2012.

Students asked Bovis representatives, who are responsible for the new academy’s construction, questions about how the new build will affect them.

They were also given a tour around the academy by East Manchester Academy’s Principal Guy Hutchence, which took in reception, various teaching rooms for subjects including IT, design technology and art. 

The MC&MA party also got to see the sports hall, music technology rooms, the purpose-built theatre and outdoor areas.
