Manchester Creative and Media Academy pupils opened the door to a future career in radio broadcasting when they visited Key 103’s studios.
A group of students that impressed the central Manchester radio station’s staff when it’s media bus came to the Academy to help them cover local band The Dress Down Kids’ performance, travelled to the Castlefield studios for the day.
They did workshops alongside students from North Ridge High School in Blackley, and worked towards creating a radio advert with voiceover expert Guy Harris. They wrote, presented and edited the material for the advert.
Students also wrote a blog about it here. You can also take a look at a slideshow of the day’s pictures at the Key2Radio site.
Miss Pears, who is responsible for the Aim Higher programme for years 9, 10 and 11, said: “The boys had a great time and really enjoyed talking to Mike Toolan and Guy ‘The Voice Over’ Harris”.
