The stars of Manchester Creative and Media Academies (MC&MA) were given a taste of Hollywood glamour when they walked the red-carpet at the premiere of its new film ‘IZZI.’
Over 50 members of the period drama’s cast were given the VIP treatment at the screening of the in-house produced film. It was shown at the Odeon Printworks cinema.
The ‘IZZI’ cast was joined by Waterloo Road’s and former North Manchester High School For Girls’ (MC&MA Girls’ predecessor school) pupil Lauren Thomas, who played Aleesha Dillon in BBC One drama.
The actors also enjoyed a pre-movie meal at Chinese restaurant Yum Yum.
In a joint statement, directors Siobhan Goryl and Matthew Woodward said: “The night was a huge success. We would like to thank all staff that made the effort to make all the students involved feel like stars on their special night, which they worked incredibly hard for.
“They are exceptional young people who are a true credit to this academy, and we have no doubt they have a bright future ahead of them.”
Roving MC&MA showbiz reporter Leanne Murdoch from 11EPK asked questions on the red carpet and got people’s reactions after the screening. Her video will be uploaded soon – watch this space!
