The Prince’s Seeing is Believing visit to MC&MA (Boys) on Thursday April 7th
The Prince’s Seeing is Believing is Business in the Community’s programme for involving business in education and the community. Business leaders were invited to join the programme for a day, to give them a better understanding of social issues and to demonstrate partnership work between schools and businesses.
Following an introduction from Business in the Community, MC&MA (Boys) is already working in partnership with KPMG, a multinational Tax & Accountancy company. We have worked together on an alternative work experience programme, mock interviews and more is planned for the future. As a result of our work we were selected to showcase our latest project during a Seeing is Believing visit on the 7th April and welcomed 30 senior business leaders into the Academy. They saw six KPMG employees working with a group of year 9 and 10 boys on ‘Making a personal impact’ and employability skills workshops. The boys were able to work with the Business Leaders and gain an insight into the wide range of job opportunities available to them when they leave school. KPMG staff worked with the boys to help them learn how to make a positive impact when meeting people and how to transfer these skills into real life situations.
The morning was a great success with the business leaders commenting on how well our boys behaved their obvious enthusiasm and their thirst for knowledge. Many of them were reluctant to leave the Academy!
