Manchester Creative and Media Academy (Boys) is very proud to be one of only four Manchester schools selected by the Lord Mayor of Manchester to host a group of children and staff from overseas.  The children arrived from South Africa on Sunday 19/6/11 and stay with us until Sunday 26/6/11.  During the week they will take part in a rugby tournament, visit Manchester attractions and experience school and family life.
There are 40 children in total on the Tour Aid visit, we are hosting 10 students from South Africa, The Manchester Academy in Moss Side are looking after 10 students from Trinidad and Tobago, The East Manchester Academy are entertaining students from Indian and Wright Robinson College are hosting 10 students from Thailand.
Each morning the visitors stay in their host academies doing a variety of activities and experiencing life within an English school.
The afternoons are jam packed with all the Tour Aid parties meeting up for group activities. On Monday Wright Robinson organised an afternoon of multi sports, the children had a great time swimming, climbing and running in the gym.
Tuesday was very exciting as everyone got a grand tour of Manchester United’s Theatre of Dreams seeing the pitch, changing room and the players lounge. There are even more great activities planned for the rest of the week including the rugby festival on Thursday at Eastlands where some of our students will be competing against the visitors and other Manchester students.
