Students Ellie Carroll and Emma Barry shone backstage at The Transformation Trust’s Rock Assembly as they spent the day interviewing world-class artists.
Starting with voice of the X-Factor Peter Dickinson, the students gained valuable insight into the world of journalism, getting hints and tips on how to crack the business and what courses to study at University.  They sat down with KISS FM to really understand the world of radio, being privy to all the gossip from their biggest interviews.
The only students out of more than 14,000 in attendance to gain press passes, the girls interviewed bands Hadouken, SoundGirl, Parade, dance troupe Diversity and international artists Tinchy Stryder and Chipmunk.  Fighting their way to the front, the girls learnt how to guarantee themselves the interviews that really matter.
In true MC&MA style, the girls showed their resilience and hard-work, sitting down for an informal chat with the executive producer of the show to understand how a concert of this scale is put together.
As regular presenters on the Young People’s Breakfast Show on Unity Radio, the interviews aired in a 3 part special throughout August.
The Young People’s Breakfast show airs every Saturday morning 10-12.
