Manchester Creative and Media Academy’s Boys Year 10 Gifted and Talented Group scooped third prize at competition hosted by Academy Sponsor, The Manchester College.
The Boys’ were narrowly beaten by Trinity High School who got the top spot. The quiz tested general knowledge on diverse areas of Science, the Arts and Humanities. Over the forty questions, eight schools competed; using hand held voting pads similar to those on TVs “Who wants to be a Millionaire”.
The boys’ enjoyed the quiz, although Y10s Richard Lunn and Sam Dewhurst admitted that the questions were “difficult”. There is however no shame in coming third.
The competition, which had a prize of £500 for the winning school, marked the end of a morning in which the students had been given a guided tour of the Manchester College and shown the opportunities the college offers for advanced level study.
