Five year 10 girls travelled to London last week to collect their prizes and certificates from Parliament for coming runners up in the national competition Lights, Camera, Parliament.

They were privileged to a tour of the Houses of Parliament, seeing both the House of Commons and the House of Lords.

Their film was screened in Westminster Hall and will be on a rotation on the screen for a whole month as part of the Arts in Parliament programme which consists of a number of unique performances and exhibitions celebrating artistic talent from across the UK in 2012.

It was a fantastic day and the students really enjoyed being treated like VIP’s.

This competition has given the Academy the opportunity to be recognised as beacon of creative and media.

Special thanks to Ms Hamlett for her great work with the students and for supporting them throughout the competition process.
