Students from Manchester University staged an impressive health promotion event in MCMA today. The students are participants in the Manchester Leadership Project, which aims to raise awareness of health issues in the community. The occasion was also a great way of highlighting the healthcare profession as a career path.
Workshops looked at drugs and alcohol, exercise, sexual health, stress and mood, smoking, healthy eating and hygiene. The interactive activities included wearing a jacket weighing 4 stone, to simulate the effects of obesity, learning the importance of properly cleaning teeth and cutting down on salty food.
