Robyn Alcock, an apprentice with Manchester City Council gave a group of Year 13s some food for thought with a presentation highlighting the benefits of apprenticeships; paid employment along with relevant training.
Many of the Year 13s had not really thought the prospect of an apprenticeship was a viable option following their BTEC Level 3s. However following the talk, many were seriously considering it as a viable alternative to university study.
Robyn was accompanied by Matt Leigh of the Greater Manchester Learner Provider Network, who was on hand to support Robyn and answer questions about apprenticeships more generally. At the end of the talk the students were given a National Apprenticeships Service information pack.
