Year 9 learners at MCMA got to take part in an exciting event this week, staged by Manchester City Council.  The Careers Aspiration Event held  at Manchester Central Convention Centre, aimed to give pupils a taste of different careers and inform them about the range of pathways open to them.

The Career Aspiration Event got the pupils to think outside the box and consider all the options open to them. There were a range of “have-a-go” activities” which the pupils could take part in, with participant organisations ranging from local colleges and apprenticeship providers, universities and globe-trotting companies like Waites Construction and Federal Mogul. Many of Manchester’s predicted growth industries were represented, such as creative and media, health and social care, engineering and many more.

The MCMA pupils left the event on a high and the visit has persuaded many of them to consider different careers.
